Alexis Clarke

Serving as Steve’s Executive Assistant allows Alexis the opportunity to use all aspects of her professional training and experience from her background in accounting, administration, and customer service. In 2000, Alexis attended the University of Cincinnati and majored in Psychology. After relocating to Florida in 2003, Alexis completed her Associate's at the State College of Florida. Alexis loves working for S.A.F.E. Planning because, as she will tell you, “Steve gives me the freedom to take an idea and run with it. I have the ability to be creative and to use all of my talents. I love the fact that everyday holds a new and different challenge. I know that I have found the perfect fit for me!”

Ashley V. Coburn
Office Manager/ Annuity Specialist

Ashley received her Master’s of Business Administration from Louisiana State University; from there she worked at Merrill Lynch and New York Life.  Ashley is a yearly supporter and participant of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. She also volunteers for the annual Jambalaya Jubilee which is a retreat for children suffering from arthritis and other Rheumatic diseases. She loves working for S.A.F.E. Planning because of the internal feeling of solving financial problems for families. Ashley states, “The gratitude in their expressions and body language is phenomenal.”

Ric Cochran
Planning Assistant to Blake Rainey

Ric began working cases with Steve and Blake in early 2006 before taking a greater role in the Shreveport office. In his own words, Ric joined S.A.F.E. Planning, Inc. because he believes, “It doesn’t make sense to help people grow their retirement savings only to stand by and watch them lose it all in the end.” While his career in insurance and financial services began decades ago, Ric believes the industry offers little in the way of addressing key needs of Americans who face financial disaster on multiple fronts. Industry solutions tend to be cookie cutter products that are pedalled in the absence of thorough planning. As a result, many will outlive their savings or fail to meet their goals. Even many with long-term care insurance face staggering risks since most have limited policies and the agents who sell them have little or no understanding of Medicaid. Says Ric, “It’s shocking how easily people who thought they had all their bases covered can lose everything.” Ric likes to listen, learn, and try to understand family dynamics when working on a case. “There are questions nobody has asked that need to be addressed rather than assuming the answers.” When he is not working, Ric enjoys time with his family, his church, and activities from scuba diving to skydiving.

Sharon Calhoun

Sharon was a perfect match for the S.A.F.E. Planning team. She came to S.A.F.E. Planning from the Department of Health and Hospitals as a Medicaid caseworker for the State of Louisiana. Sharon, a graduate of Columbia College, Mo and the Community College of the Air Force, is a long time member of the National Organization for Female Executives. Sharon enjoys the work ethic at S.A.F.E. Planning, and their ability to make sure that the client is always taken care of.

Cindy Tench
Office Manager
Location: Lakewood Ranch, FL
Cindy has a background in customer service and communications. She attended Cleveland State University in Ohio, and moved to Florida in 2005.  Her experience allows her to bring an extensive array of capabilities ensuring she meets all of our current and potential client’s requirements. Her high energy and pleasant demeanor makes her a valuable part of our S.A.F.E.  Planning organization.   She is married with two wonderful sons, and spends her free time volunteering at their school, and church. Cindy also supports many sports and community activities that her two sons are involved in such as tykwondo, East Manatee Bulldogs Football, YMCA Sports, scouting, and music lessons.  Cindy is very active in the community, belonging to various Lakewood Ranch boards and committees.  She enjoys running, and playing Mah Jongg!
