One of our Florida client -friends celebrated his 94th birthday on January 15, 2010. He is living in a nursing home with Alzheimer’s, but his wife, Gladys, says he still knows who she is though sometimes he forgets her name. “Jack is doing alright” according to his wife of over 60 years, and they enjoyed celebrating his birthday together. Gladys also recognized another birthday this month when she took a birthday balloon and card to Steve Rainey at his office. “Then we all sang happy birthday to Steve,” she said. “They are so nice and co-operative to me that I just don’t know what I’d do without S.A.F.E. Planning.” When she first contacted S.A.F.E. Planning a few years ago, she was paying nearly $6,000.00 a month to the nursing home. S.A.F.E. Planning assisted Jack in obtaining approval for Medicaid benefits. She says, “They saved my assets!”![]() At 83 years of age, Gladys stays active at Casa Loma Mobile Home Park playing “Robber’s Bingo” and she also helps out at Coffee Hour on Saturdays by helping the coffee man clean up. She recently worked the park’s bazaar for two days which she described as fun. Her husband sometimes attends the extra-curricula festivities at the nursing home although Jack has forgotten that he once played the piano, guitar, fiddle, harmonica and organ, and he tends to sleep through most of the performances. The Alexander’s are special people to those of us at S.A.F.E. Planning, and it is our pleasure and honor to wish Jack 94th birthday blessings!
