SAFE PLANNING

I couldn’t imagine what the journey of getting my mother into a nursing home would have been like without having the support and guidance of the professionals at SAFE Planning.  The emotions that went along with the decision to place my mother into a nursing home were hard enough to deal with then, the thought of piling on how to figure out what’s needed to fill out a Medicaid application well that would have been a nightmare.

Starting a few years ago, we began planning for the inevitable.  Following Mr. Rainey’s proactive guidance my parents were able to protect their modest nest egg and qualify for Medicaid when the time came without any upfront cost paid to the nursing home.  That highlights the fact that any financial planning for seniors has to include good estate planning.  Steve’s experience wouldn’t allow our family to have tunnel vision, meaning he was always thinking about other possibilities of what might happen so the steps we took would cover us no matter what the future held.

Even now after my mom has been living in the nursing home Steve, Cindy and Kim continue to assist my father.  Whether it’s the Lady Bird Deed we’re working on now or Cindy emailing me documents (I live in Colorado) that my father doesn’t understand or just wants me to see.  All I can say is the way they’re treating my father is the way you treat a friend, not just a client.
