Q: If I have to put my husband in a nursing home, do I have to spend all of our money before I can get any Government assistance?
A: No. We deal with this daily and are amazed at the lack of knowledge that there is when it comes to Medicaid Planning. The rules are complex, but we can show you how to best structure your estate to preserve as much as possible and still get the help that you need.
Q: Should I give everything to my children now?
A: No. In fact, giving property or money away could even be more damaging than doing nothing at all. We encourage our clients to maintain control over their assets. You never know what the future holds. If you are still in control, you will have more choices about what you want to do.
Q: I'm an honest person. Is sheltering my assets in order to receive Medicaid legal?
A: We never encourage our clients to be dishonest. We structure estates to conform to the rules and regulations that are set forth by the Medicaid office. We show them everything that was done and hide nothing.
